Pupils and staff from Thornden School in Hampshire have raised over £2,600 for TBACT by holding a special day of sales and activities. The event held by Year 10 pupils and their teachers involved a variety of fundraising ideas including an art sale, a car wash and a photography stall. The fundraiser was organised after one pupil, Elle Henty, saw the BBC documentary' Bulgaria's Abandoned Children' and was compelled to help. Enlisting the help of school friends and teachers, she organised a special charity day at the school.

Deputy head teacher, James Hartley said 'The pupils themselves organised the day and the staff were here to just help, the day has been a huge success and its all down to the pupils'.

Siobhain Santry from TBACT said 'These teenagers have shown great creativity in organising this day and have raised a fantastic sum of money to help the children at Mogilino. It's wonderful to see young people showing such empathy and kindness to other children who they have never met and on behalf of all the TBACT team I would like to express our gratitude to them'.
