Clothing for charity scam in Ireland

We would like to alert our supporters to a probable charity scam that is being operated in Ireland and the UK that promises to help the children of Mogilino social care home. Flyers are being distributed to householders requesting donations of clothes and bedding as well as shoes and perfume.
As the flyers do not provide a charity name or indeed a business name and in so far as we have been unable to trace anyone on the numbers supplied, we can only assume that this is a scam. An image from the the film has been used without permission and the copy contained on the flyer seems deliberately misleading as to what use any donations will be to the children. We are aware that some commercial companies do operate legitimate collection services on behalf of charities but to date no one has contacted us suggesting this service.
We would like to thank our supporter Jill in Ireland for her vigilance on this and bringing it to our attention. We will pursue this matter with Trading Standards as well as notify all our registered supporters by email.
