TBACT is a British charity dedicated to helping abandoned and disabled children in Bulgaria.
We campaign and raise awareness of the unacceptable standards of social care for vulnerable children in Bulgaria and the detrimental effects of growing up in an institution can have on a child. We lobby for policy change at a national level and for the human rights of all children regardless of disability to be respected.
We fund projects that prevent children being placed in institutional care, close orphanages and deinstitutionalise children and develop alternative social services. We support children placed in the institutional system and families of disabled and disadvantaged children struggling to cope.
We do not renovate or provide funding to institutions directly.
TBACT is managed and run by a core team of four:
Kate Blewett
Rosa Monckton
Siobhain Santry
Sophie Stewart
