VOLUNTEER WITH TBACT

Whether it’s part of your gap year, a career break, annual leave or during your retirement, you can volunteer with TBACT and help young children in a Bulgarian institution at any time of year.

You can be a trained professional or totally new to the field. All we ask is that you are over 18 years of age, have enthusiasm and a dedicated approach to the work and the children you are there to help.

Our volunteer programme supports children in an institution in the district of Pleven, northern Bulgaria. With over 200 children, the institution is one of the largest in the country. The children are aged from one day to twelve years, many have suffered delays in their development and over 80 have a disability.

You will be working in a mixed age group of other TBACT volunteers who come from many walks of life. You’ll also work with local people and professionals involved in looking after the children in the institution and occasionally volunteer groups from other overseas organizations.

You can volunteer from two weeks to six months and places are available throughout 2012.

Just picking the children up and giving them some much needed one to one attention can make a significant difference to their development.
